History and Experience

 

Naledi Inhlanganiso has a rich history. Over time we have grown alongside our ever expanding nation.  We invest in our people and strive to grow a unified workforce which thrives on consistent delivery in every aspect. Our diverse customer base has given us a wealth of experience in a wide range of applications adapted to suit various industries that have requirements for forged and cast components.  We have more than six decades of experience and have built a credible reputatiopn in the iron, steel, casting and manufacturing industries. We are known for supplying a diverse range of high quality steel and iron products to customers around the globe and continue to diversify our businesses in order to serve the needs of the global market.

  • NALEDI FOUNDRY

    Naledi Foundry produces high quality Steel, Grey Iron and Spheroidal Graphite, and High Chrome castings for the Automotive, Earth Moving Equipment, Grinding Media, Infrastructure, Mining, Railway, Rolling Stock, Transport and Valve sectors in local and international markets.

  • NALEDI RINGROLLERS

    Naledi Ringrollers, is internationally renowned as a global leader in the manufacture of seamless forged and rolled products for the Rail, Petrochemical, Civil Engineering, Power generation, medium to heavy engineering industries and is one of the largest forging companies in the southern hemisphere.

  • CBC

    CBC designs & develops asbestos free composite brake blocks and brake pads to customer specifications. The CBC facility in Rosslyn expands 4,800m2 and has an annual manufacturing capacity of up to 720,000 on-tread railway brake blocks. Our backing plate workshop has an annual manufacturing capacity of up to 1,2 million brake block backing plates.

  • NALEDI RESOURCES

    Vandaspark (Pty) Ltd is 61% owned by Naledi Resources. It acquired a Greenfield Coal Prospecting Right (Rondevly Project) near Delmas in Mpumalanga.

    Black Manufacturers Are No Longer A Myth   

    Naledi Inhlanganiso (Pty) Ltd is an industrial group operating in the basic iron and steel manufacturing sector. Naledi Foundry is one of the largest black-owned foundries in South Africa and has roots going back to 1912.

    Throughout the years, the foundry was very involved in the automotive sector where it was a major casting supplier of components but has since diversified to service the locomotive, mining and energy industries. Naledi acquired the foundry in 2013 through a consortium that included the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), to gain a majority stake in the then listed Dorbyl Ltd. “I used all of my resources to buy the shares but I still needed to approach the IDC and they were prepared to assist.     The Evolution of Naledi Inhlanganiso


    In 2013 a consortium consisting of the IDC, Sibusiso Maphatiane and an Employees trust acquired the majority stake of Dorbyl Ltd, a listed entity who owned the foundry. Immediately after delisting in July 2014 the shareholder initiated an extensive capital investment plan into the foundry as well as a corporate restructuring to separate the foundry from the rest of the Dorbyl group. The restructuring was completed in May 2016 and the capital investment program in May 2017.

    Naledi Group believes unity, excellence and trust are key to being the largest black owned manufacturing company in Africa with the ability to compete locally and internationally, driving transformation and industrialisation through investment in plant, people and products...
